Crime & No Punishment

A woman who was promised round the clock security by the Uttar Pradesh CM after an acid attack in March 2107, landed in hospital after acid was thrown on her face on 1st July 2017. 

What makes it more horrible is the chronology of the attacks.

2008:  She was gang raped over a property dispute.

2102:  She was stabbed.

2013:  She was forced to drink acid on board a train. After which she was                     provided security.

2017: Two men enter her hostel and fling acid on her. 

The woman is a resident of Rae Bareli and works in a cafe run by acid attack victims.

As I write this the lyrics of an old Bob Dylan classic echo in my head:

Yes, 'n' how many times can a man turn his head

And pretend that he just doesn't see
